''From Scenes Like These Old Scotia's Grandeur Spreads...''

Robert Burns Tour

A Burns Tour is for fans of Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns who lived most of his life in the county of Ayrshire from 1759 until 1788, when he moved to Dumfrieshire. Start your tour from Edinburgh or Glasgow to your first port of call at Mauchline, home to Burns for a number of years & you can visit the Burns' House Museum (free entry) & admire the Burns Memorial Monument. A few miles down the road in Tarbolton was where Robert and his brother set up the Bachelors' Club, the building still stands to this day and is looked after by the National Trust Scotland.

Driving South we come to the village of Kirkoswald where the young Rab was schooled and made many good friends including booze buddy Souter Jonny whose cottage can still be visited. From here we take a short drive up the Ayrshire coast to the village of Alloway, where Robert Burns was born and grew up. Among the many sights to see here are the Burns family cottage, the auld kirk graveyard, the Brig O Doon & the Burns Heritage Centre.
